Does anybody else know what I mean?

I recently wrote a song and one lyric is "and i sit and admire the purple winter sky". I showed a couple people and they said that winter skies are not purple and they dont know what im talking about.

Does anybody else know what i mean? Its like at night its lightly snowing and its cloudy and the sky is like a dark purpleish? I thought it was a beautiful setting and i wrote a song about it and no one knows what im talking about!!!

And if you do know what im talking about, do you know what thats called?

I know what you mean, screw the world, harness your creative ability and describes things you want they WAY you want. That's a metaphor son.

Screw the critics. Then re-double your own self-discipline to scrutinize your own work . You can ALWAYS improve a work. Many times, however, it is most touching to you in its original form. Keep that for you, and rewrite it for consumption, if that is your goal. Money/sales is a true measure of the worth of your effort given the press is adequate.

"Admire" is a word that may connote ego and pride and turn off readers. To get you out of that mud, try wonder and awe-inspiring...uh....something like that. There, I'm a critic screwy...no shun necessary. Best wishes to you.

Yeah I think I know that.

Purple are not really the sky or something, it's the color of your heart or mind at that time.

You live as a poet, but others do not.

Aurora Borealis maybe, the Northern Lights.

It is a song, you can mean whatever you want - its your expression of your feelings. I would also relate the color purple with royalty and thus the winter nights are royal with their purple hue.

I guess but oddly colored skies are more likely at sunrise and sunset. What winter is better known for is being blazingly bright and sharp because of the white snow.
