Why do Internet Service Providers hide broadband charges?

They will advertise prices like £10.99 per month for broadband, but then an installation charge of £49.99, plus line rental of £15 per month, so the initial cost is £75.98, then £25.99 for the rest of the months.

Why can't they just state the full price of the broadband package?

I ask this because I'm currently looking for the best broadband deal for somebody, and it always ends up more expensive than the companies advertise lol.

I think I already know the answer, they want to attract you before you see the true horror in terms of prices lol.

Thanks for listening to my rant!

The installation charge only applies once

The line rental is for the phone line as well

So yes you will pay line rental plus broadband service each month

Look for a better deal than the one you quote

Source(s): I'm with SKY and broadband is a lot cheaper than that and installation is free UK
