lamb in the slow cooker?

hi, i took a piece of boneless lamb leg, approx 2.2kg and put it into my slow cooker with some olive oil, rosemary, garlic, lemon, honey, salt/pepper, etc. i know i shouldve added onion but anyways its been about 4 hours and ive tried a piece and its about medium/ medium well. should i cook it for another 4 hours and turn it into shredded lamb or is 4 hours enough? i know it is probably personal choice but what do you people think?

thanks alot

I do mine in the oven. slow and low.

I also use olive oil, rosemary, garlic and lemon salt and pepper. Never tried honey. I never add onions to it. I might have to try the honey though.

I do mine for 6 to 8 hours for a leg bone in or out.

I think another 4 hours will yield a much more tender piece of meat.

I serve mine often with couscous to sop up the extra juice or potatoes that I roast in the oven.

I was always fond of rare lamb until I tried the slow and low cooking and I will not do it any other way now.

Preheat your oven to 200ºC/400ºF/gas 6. Rub the lamb with oil, sea salt and freshly ground black pepper and put it into a roasting tray. Using a sharp knife, make small incisions all over the lamb and poke rosemary leaves and some quartered cloves of garlic into each one. This will give great flavour to the meat. Add the rest of the garlic cloves, the onions, carrots, celery, leeks and fresh tomatoes to the tray, then tuck the remaining herbs under the meat.
