What is the ministries main concerns with parents raising children?

I am 22 years old, and have a child due this April. The relationship between my boyfriend and I is on and off and I don't know if he will have a part in raising the child, so I am preparing for the worst cast scenario (that I will raise the child alone).

I have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) which effects my social skills, but not my intelligence. My doctor said she will give the ministry a call to see what supports are available for me to raise my child. I am concerned that they will take the child away, and am wondering what (besides the obvious) would cause my child to be taken from me and what I can do to make sure that that doesn't happen.

I live in BC, Canada

A child is generally only taken away if there is evidence that the mother is on drugs or is abusing the child. If your child is healthy and happy and not abused, they have no reason to take the child away.
