Do many members actually read the military section before posting?

If they did they wouldn't ask the same question over and over and over as the answer has been given.

Ie) Can a non American join the US military? Will possible action in Syria lead to WWIII?

But I guess I'm expecting to much. Half of them can't do a Google search on basic questions about rank, requirements to join etc.

I wonder if many of them know each service has it's own website?

I guess I'm expecting too much.

Update:

EDIT: I guess I can't compare it to the "pre internet" days when we had to go to school/municipal libraries and look up details in encyclopedias or other sources, or we actually phoned or stopped by places like Recruiting offices to get information. We couldn't beg for basic info or for home work/assignment information.

I know other forums on YA have the same type of laziness, and there is no way I'll look up the political forum. At times this place can make you want to tear out your own hair. (But its fun to rant on the ranters/trolls).

Update 2:

Dothan I agree. I help where I can also. Not being a member or former member of US Service I can't answer most with any level of practical knowledge, but I try to answer military questions that are pretty much universal regardless of Country and of course Canadian Forces questions (especially Reserve questions).

Most are simply to lazy, or did not like the answer they saw and are hoping their situation will give them a different answer.

Most of those that are "political" I ignore, because they are not really questions. Most of those are people trying to propagandize something and simply hiding it as a question.

Then you have the trolls, who ask the same thing over and over again, simply changing the wording a little bit, I ignore them also.

What you are left with is often people who really are curious, those are the ones I actually try to help.

You are expecting way too much of mankind...

If you think the military section is bad, take a gander at the politics section (pack a barf bag beforehand).

When one expects much from children, they are more often than not, expecting too much, children here get the attention they have been deprived at home

Preach on brother! Can I get an Amen?!

BTW, it isn't just the military section. It is every section.

    It does get frustrating.

Teenager mentality...it'll get fixed once they join up.
