Why do some kids receive gifts(...)?
On Father's day, Mother's day and even National birthday? I also heard about kids receiving full gift on Valentine's day, and by full gift I mean bigger than a candy bar; they would receive games or even electronic devices.

I guess parents like to "celebrate" in a huge way.
I only give Birthday presents on my sons birthday and on Christmas. I do give him some candy on valentine's day and Easter but I don't go overboard on them two holidays.
