How to fix paint bubble on Dodge Ram?
What is the cheapest way to fix a dime sized paint bubble on a rear quarter panel? It's on the rear passenger side right above the wheel well. A body shop quoted me $400 and I was wondering if this can be a do it yourself project.

That is rust coming through from the inside. There is very little if anything you can do to fix it cheaply.
About the only cheap thing to do is spray it with oil on the inside to try to slow the rust down.
Dodge Ram's are known to have that problem.

What you're seeing is rust perforating from the backside, expect it to get much worse over time. What you can do now to slow it down quite a bit is to remove the tailight and douse the wheel opening area with oil,WD40 is fine.I do autobody work professionally and do this as a courtesy to customers who never even know about it.
The bubble now is at a point of long term temporary repair.A pro might grind it,hammer it in,then fill it with a fiberglass compound. But,doing nice paint work is another thing, almost impossible without guidance.So..it may be best to leave the outside alone.

My sister has a 04 ford F-150 she had a problem but it wasn't on the wheel well it was on the door, she just buffed it up real nice bought the same color paint that the truck used and painted it herself. just look it up on youtube and that will show you how its done. remember car paint is different from regular paint. Hope that helps
