For instance, a mother lion shows to her cubs how to hunt for their prey until they are old enough to fend for themselves. Most human parents do this similarly, they teach their children how to be successful and support them throughout their lifetime. The reason why parents educate their children is because they want their children to be happy in their future. That is why teaching success is the most valuable lesson a parent could teach to his or her child; by teaching them about goal setting, determination, and hard work, which is the recipe for success. Parents can help them ensure that his or her child is successful in the unbalanced game of life. Therefore, today this piece of writing will demonstrate on how parents can ensure that their children can become successful by teaching them these logical successful lessons.

Everyone has dreams, some people dream about becoming the next Sydney Crosby, while on the other hand some people want to learn how to drive. For instance, one of my friend’s dreams is to become an Information technology specialist, and he has set that goal to become his future dream. But, there are two main types of goals which are short term goals and long term goals. A short term goal is a goal that someone creates to achieve within a short period of time, for example: Jack wants to receive a hundred percent on his upcoming English essay. While on the other hand, a long term goal is a goal which you plan on reaching in a long period of time. An example of this is Jack wants to become a police chief when he grows up. When children lean to set goals and reach them, they can imagine their future earlier, and then they could create good choices which will make their dreams into reality. Research shows that it is critical to get children thinking early about what’s important to them, so rooting and striving for their goals helps children learn their responsibility at school. Parents giving lessons about goal setting is the first step of success, which will make them realize their potential, and from realizing their potential they can become determine of achieving that particular goal.

Determination is when someone puts their mind into a goal, and sticks by it, and never loses hope even through the toughest obstacles. “Desire is the key to motivation, buts it determination and commitment to an un-relenting pursuit of your goal- and commitment to excellence that will enable you to attend the success you will seek” is a quote by Mario Andretti, an Italian race car driver. This quote informs us that determination is the second step to success, which everyone has experienced at least once in their life time. Parents should create determination for their children when the child has created a goal or objective for their future. Parents should encourage and help their children to pursue and achieve their goal. Sometimes there will be bumps on the road, such as one dreadful mark, but parents should teach their children to work around that by taking a different route to tackle the problem. It is better to have difficulty at the early years so when they grow older and enter grade 12, they won’t repeat them and create problems for entering to a post-secondary institution. But to create determination for the child, he or she must have self-confidence that he or she could succeed. Parents must be committed to help their children throughout their journey to reach their goal, so they won’t lose confidence when they get into difficulty.

A hard working person is a successful person, and the parents should teach their children to try their best at any circumstances. Hard work always pays off because you have the determination to complete your task no matter how difficult it may be. For example Steve Jobs worked lengthy hours in his parents’ basement, and then he became one of the most successful people in the whole world. From this type of hard work, success will always pay off. Intense hard work along with skills will help you to win success. Henry Ford said: “The harder you work, the luckier you get, and the more successful you get”. What this quote means is that the people who work hard with no talent will achieve more than people with talent, who don’t work as hard. Just like Albert Einstein, he had a learning disorder, but he overcame that obstacle by working hard, and became one of the smartest people in the whole world. Parents should encourage their children to have determination so they can keep on working hard at their goals which they want to achieve. Once the child has their mind set to it, and work hard at it, success will be near. Another example of hard work is from a short story called “Borders”.
