Crock pot ceramic pot broken?

I bought the Betty Crocker slow cooker on sale, half price, and when I got it home the ceramic pot was in peices. I cannot prove I didn't break it on the way home. Cana I use a glass bowl that is too large -so the lid would not really fit. Can I use it without the ceramic pot? Is there something else I can use, or even a coffee mug?

Take it back. The store will exchange it, in order to maintain goodwill. No, you cannot use it without an insert.

take it back immediately!!! you can either get your money back or get a replacement as this has obviously never been used!

Nothing else will work!! when the crock is broken!!! we can make do with some other lid, but not the crock!!

I just got a new crock after about 30 years service of my other one!! super nice with a keep warm level on it too!!! I love that feature and the one where the lid clamps on for both storage and for taking to pot luck dinners!!!

confident, you need to use the ceramic area, yet do no longer use the lid. maximum lids for crock pots are no longer made to be utilized in ovens and the plastic shelter WILL soften and wreck. Use tin foil over the ceramic properly somewhat of the lid.
