Common horseback riding misconceptions?

All horse owners are rich!

Horses should eat lots of oats, grain or lush green grass.

Horse can read your mind!

You need lots of equipment to ride a horse.

Anyone can ride a horse easily.

Only a few people can train horses successfully (Horse whisperers).

A green horse and a green rider go together well

(one of my favourites) You can train a horse like you train a dog.

You need to be quiet around horses so they don't bolt

You can just get on a wild horse and ride it!

Well my sister said most of these things and I don't know how many times I've told her, too many.

"No! A stallion is an unneutered male!"

"No, its a horse that lives in the wild!"

"No that would be, some Mustangs, Brumbies, Chincoteage ponies and Prezwalskis horses.

"So they are all stallions?"

Those horses look the same! There like twins!

To her every bay horse is a twin.

Horse back riding is easy, I don't know why it would be in the olympics, esspecially dressage. I mean its just sitting on a horse.

Whats the difference between english and western?

The horse does all the work.

The person is supposed to use the reins for balance, like a handrail for a roller coaster.

You must be a cruel person for kicking that horse.

Horses don't poop.

Horses can live happy in an itty bitty stall and look pretty.

Ponies are horses that suffer dwarfism.

All horses wear horseshoes on all four feet.

Only angry horses don't listen to the rider.

There are four types of horses: white, brown, black, and a horse with all those colors.

Horses don't shed.

Horses can't swim.

Horses are always comfy to ride.

You can treat a horse like a dog.

1) all you do is sit there. The horse does all the work

2) if you walk behind a horse it will kick you

3) a pony is a baby horse

4) mustangs are ferral and can't be broke

5) cowboys are never gay and all english riding men are gay

I have a horse so I have experience.

1. horses are misunderstood animals you are the predator and they are the prey, that's how they think.

2.if your horse is trained properly than it shouldn't kick you but be careful and stay as close as you can to its butt when walking behind it.

3.don't be tensed up while riding than the horse will get tensed up and will flip out.

4.try to get and older horse, they are easier to control.

The list could go on and on.

You can't really ride until you've fallen off 7 times.

all people do with horses is jump them,

guys dont like horses they just ride to impress girls
