Mismatch Repair Deficiency in Endometrial Cancer?
I had a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. MLH1 and PMS2 showed loss of nuclear staining. Does this mean I definitely have Lynch Syndrome? Why do I also have to have genetic testing via blood test? I don't have any first degree relatives with Lynch Syndrome related cancers.
Other - Health1 month agoWhy does my E36 BMW wind up the windows when I select reverse gear?
I just bought a '97 323i E36 BMW sedan. Every time I select reverse gear, all the windows wind up and the doors lock. I have asked other BMW owners about this and it is not meant to happen. The auto electrician isn't even sure he can stop it happening. The E36 has problems with the regulators in the window winders and already I'm having to replace one at a cost of $350 due to this constant unnecessary over-use.
3 AnswersBMW7 years agoWhy does my sound disappear on YouTube after adding royalty free music?
I often upload videos to YouTube that have royalty problems with music. Right away I will remove the disputed music and replace it with the royalty-free YouTube music. Every time I do this, all my other sound disappears. For example, if I am travelling in a car in the video, you can no longer hear the engine sounds. It's just silent. Why is this happening? The original music was added separately so the two sound tracks are separate - the engine noises in the car, and the song added afterwards when editing the video. I will often start a video with a song then fade it out to allow the car's engine sounds to be heard. I know I should remove the sound tracks before uploading them but some are older videos I made that can't be edited in iMovie any more.
1 AnswerYouTube7 years agoCan you freeze a traditional baked dinner?
I'm making an English baked lamb dinner with Yorkshire pudding, peas with mint sauce and vegetables with gravy. I'd like to make up two extra plates for next week. Can I successfully freezed a baked dinner and how should I do it? Will it taste as good when warmed up as when it was fresh?
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes8 years agoHow did the fire in Queens start?
I don't understand how Queens, NY, had a terrible fire in the middle of a hurricane, with all that rain. How is this possible? How can houses in the city burn down like that? What started this fire?
6 AnswersTrivia9 years agoHow bad was my diastolic blood pressure at 121?
My BP has been up and down lately so the doctor asked me to take my BP at home using an Omron machine. I've been doing this and my BP hasn't been good - 158/98, 150/92, like that. But today I felt like my head was going to explode so I took my BP and it was 158/121. I couldn't believe it. How did I miss having a stroke? It's too late to go to the doctor as everything has closed but I will go tomorrow. I took my BP a few minutes later and it was back to 160/112, which is still pretty bad, I know. How close was I to dying? Do not answer unless you have a medical/nursing degree.
6 AnswersHeart Diseases9 years agoI have some 4 year old Ativan that I've kept in the freezer. Is it still good?
Military research in the U.S. has shown that most drugs can be kept for many years after their expiry date, and the expiry date has been found to be more a commercial thing, so I'm wondering if my Ativan (Lorazepam) is all right, or maybe I shouldn't have frozen it.
2 AnswersMedicine9 years agoSpeed camera fine: owner of car has Alzheimers and can't nominate the driver.?
I called State Debt Recovery and they said the person who has Power of Attorney must make a statutory declaration in relation to the speed camera offence. The owner of the car certainly wasn't driving but it could have been one of any number of relatives who drive the owner around. The POA nominee doesn't want to make a statutory declaration. She says she wasn't there so how would she know who was driving, and they can't force her to carry out an investigation into the matter. She doesn't see why she should have to pay to view the photo of the offender or question relatives. What happens now? The money isn't a problem, we are happy to pay it right away, but I don't think they will accept it without knowing who the driver is.
1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation9 years agoA friend has brain lesions caused by rheumatoid arthritis. They showed up on the MRI scan.?
These lesions seem to be rare and I can find only one reference to them on the internet. Her brain is swollen. She can't see properly. She can't speak properly. One doctor told her she won't get any better than she is now. She is only 49. She's been in hospital since February. The doctors seem to know little or nothing about the condition. Does anyone know something, and what is the prognosis?
1 AnswerMedicine9 years agoI work in an office and from time to time one of the workers poos on the floor of the toilets.?
Sometimes they leave dirty toilet paper on the floor. The supervisor is trying to find out who is doing it but we just can't catch them. What would cause this kind of disgusting behaviour? Any suggestions for finding the culprit or stopping them?
7 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoMy elderly mother is being held against her will. What will I do?
I have been my mother's carer for years. She doesn't need a lot of help. At 83, she's fairly sprightly, but she doesn't drive any more. She has a few memory problems at times. My brother has hardly ever visited her. He has been 3 times this year, from 300 kms away, but only because he had to collect car parts from a nearby town. He only stayed 15 minutes. He doesn't ring her, and he once told her he hated her because her evidence at his divorce case caused him to lose custody of his children. This isn't even true. My mother became very ill on a plane on 27th December. She collapsed and was rushed to hospital. No cause has yet been found but she looked like she was dying. On 28th December she was released into my care. I took her home and the hospital gave me a list of things to do and tests to get done. My brother sent his daughter down. She coerced my mother to go in her car to my brother's house, even though my mother was still sick and just out of hospital. She told me I could pick her up on 2nd January. When I got back to my house, I had an email from my brother's de facto telling me not to come and pick her up on 2nd January. I rang my mother on 29th December and heard my niece say in the background "Don't forget you have your brain scan today." I asked my mother and she said she was being taken for a brain scan. I rang my brother on his phone and he said "None of your business" and hung up on me. I rang my mother back. I said "Please call out to {my brother & his de facto} and ask them when this brain scan is happening and where." She did, and I heard them both say "She doesn't need to know." On 30th December I transferred $3000 she had withdrawn from a fund for a holiday into an account not accessible by ATM. On that day, she was taken out to the shops, and tried to purchase an expensive gift for my niece's new boyfriend. My brother's de facto emailed me demanding that I put back the $3000 as my mother had been embarrassed when she couldn't make the purchase. I asked the de facto what my mother wanted $3000 for. She replied via email "It's for her living expenses while she is here." I refused to transfer the money. My niece went on Facebook and made defamatory postings that I was stealing my mother's money. The de facto demanded the money be transferred and I responded "I have equal say in this bank account, it belongs to both my mother and I, and I don't take instructions from you." She sent an email accusing me of all kinds of things, of having no food in my mother's house and leaving the house 'dirty'. My mother does her own food shopping and cleans her own house. I don't do these things for her. She is fine to do it herself. We had been away for a week, so neither of us had had a chance to tidy up and neither of us had any food in the house. These accusations also appeared on Facebook. I rang my mother a few times and asked her to ask the de facto and my brother when she was going to be brought home. They always answered "After all your medical appointments and tests." They have never had anything to do with her medical appointments. She is 300 kms from home. Her doctor who knows her is here. She has an appointment at the Renal Clinic next week as she has chronic kidney disease though it doesn't make her feel sick. I need to get her back for that, as you wait 3 months to get in for an appointment, and there are blood tests to be done in the next few days. Mum told me that my brother is getting an Aged Care Assessment done. This kind of thing has to be done in the person's own home with their carer present. I am very suspicious that this is a grab for power. Yesterday I called and asked my mother if she wanted to come home and if I could go and get her. She said yes, but then my brother came into the room and she changed her answer to "(Brother) will bring me home when he is ready." Today she walked 2 kilometres to the shops to talk to me away from them. She said she wants to go home, but they keep making more and more 'appointments' for her. I told her I would fax the Aged Care Assessment Team and put a stop to that, at least. She said they keep saying "You can't go home until you get your ears looked at. You can't go home until you get your toenail looked at. We're not letting you go home until your daughter (me) gets in a professional cleaner to clean your house and fixes the back screen door."
I told her I will not accept any 'conditions' for bringing her home. I do not have to get a cleaner or someone to fix the screen door. My brother has done nothing for my mother, ever, so why doesn't he go down there and clean up and fix the door!
It sounds like she's some kind of hostage. "We'll release her.....if she agrees to do this and this, and if you do that."
There are multiple persuaders in that house against a single vulnerable victim. One minute she says "I want to go home", then my brother or his de facto comes into the room and she says "I have to stay and get these tests done."
