Printing edited photos?

I tried saving edited photos and photo collages (made on computer at home) to my SD memory card, but when I go to print photos at places like Walmart or Costco, the edited photos/collages are not displayed when I'm choosing which photos to print. My camera only shoots in JPEG; does printing edited photos only work with RAW? I also heard that you can print photos if you save them to a USB or a different source, but will that make any difference, 'cause isn't it just the same file on a different type of source? Is there a way to print edited photos without having to send in the order online, if this method even works?

Note: I use GIMP to edit my photos

Update:

Yes, I'm exporting them correctly and flattening layers

That doesn't make sense if you are doing it all normally and uploading jpegs. I'd be surprised if they even let you upload RAW images. Photoshop won't even open a RAW file unless you have converted it in ACR first. Mine have always showed up and I photoshop all of mine. Do they look normal when you are viewing them on your computer? Maybe the program they are using to show the pictures is not compatible with your computer or something. I have never had that issue so maybe take them in on a USB and see if they print normally that way. I also don't get where the SD card comes in, I just save mine to my computer and upload those files on the website of choice and all works flawlessly.

Unemployment sucks! BUT: selling others photos may violate copyrights laws. Be sure you are not violating that. As for printing those pictures, if you are able to get full size copies, save the images to your MyPhotos file. Once they are on your computer you can edit them however you want. After editing them, you should have no problem printing them right from Microsoft Picture Viewer. (been a while since I used windows) To print them in SuperSize, you will have to take the photos to someone who has the large printers. Warning: if the picture is not HIGH quality, the large picture will look grainy and rather unappealing. e-mail me if you have any more questions.

What format are you saving them in?

Use a flash memory stick to take them to the print shop.

When you edit a photo in GIMP and save it, it saves in GIMPs native file format called XCF. Walmart and Costco can't print XCF files. RAW files are not printable - you can't edit RAW files in any image editor, they are read only. When you "edit" RAW images, what you are actually editing is a converted bitmap image - not the actual RAW file itself.

What you need to do is Export the image as a jpeg. In GIMP click File > Export > give your file a new name and end with the extension .jpg - then hit Export, then when the export dialog appears hit Export again.

There is no need to flatten the layers in GIMP before you do this - when you Export as a jpeg GIMP automatically flattens the image.

You are exporting them as a file like JPG or PNG right?
