Why do people feel the need to be nasty like this?

This is self filmed vid of some man protesting against a food chain by being rude to a drive thru worker.

Why do people act like this?

Update:

I noted he said this food company funds hate groups but I think his definition of hate group is different from most peoples.

I've since heard that this company is a Christian one and so while it serves anyone, it wont do special events for homosexual people which have homosexuality as a feature of the event. I don't regard this as hate, but a difference of opinion, obviously this man feels differently.

Looks like he's going to be a bit of a pariah for awhile. Hopefully it will make others think twice before doing similar things and that includes happy slapping and other nasty behaviour.

Because some people feel, if you're not with me you're against me.

If what this man was saying is TRUE and the company IS giving money to hate groups, it's good that he stands up against them, because homophobia is something I hate, despite being 100% straight.

HOWEVER this was the WRONG way to go about it. I don't think he was particularly offensive towards the woman serving him, but he made her feel very uncomfortable discussing such matters.
