Lost the nice, hollow feeling in my throat and it's affecting my singing. Please help!?
About a month ago I started having a lot of mucous build up in my throat and was coughing up yellow crap. I went to see my doctor and he told me it wasn't a sinus infection but just sinus congestion. He give me that Neilmed sinus rinse stuff and I tried it a couple of times. Lately I've been taking nasal spray every morning and taking mucous relief tablets. I'm not coughing up the yellow crap anymore but my throat still feels really tight and it's hard for me to sing. Please help me out because I love singing and hope to play in a band sometime soon!

The nasal spray may be an anti histamine and this is given to you to dry up the excess mucosa, however singers need saliva and your tablets may be drying your natural saliva up too much. Singing while on Antihistamines can cause nodules through lack of mucous during vibration. Proven by many experiments in the past by Wake Forest University.

Lots of water and chamomile tea should help it. Also, try some vocal warm ups regularly. Hope this helps!
