Can I Sing? Should I take Singing Lessons if I have talent???

Should I take singing lessons, if I have talent, based on me singing on this link on SoundCloud?  I want to join a Choir and sing Gospel Music.  Do I have the talent to do this and should I take singing lessons?

Can you sing? Based on your link, yes you can sing but, to me, not especially well. There's nothing there to suggest you have a “talent” for singing. You can sing better than I can and I would have thought you could probably manage in a choir and sing gospel music.

Whether or not you have a talent for singing, if you want to be a better singer then yes, you should take lessons.

I must be getting soft in these last few days, bcuz I never click on links. But I did listen and will give you an honest critique. You can sing and stay on key (reasonably so.) But yours is not an exceptional or strong voice whatsoever. Your local church may offer an outlet for your desire to sing and if so, I'd say go for it. But you're really just average and honestly, won't ever be a soloist. Voice coaching would be a waste, imho. I sang backup for years, but I also recognized I simply did not have the talent or vocal strength required to stand in the spotlight. But that's perfectly OK. If it makes you happy, do it. Go ahead and audition for the choir.
