Is Tuesday 3rd January 2012 a bank holiday,?
my calendar says it is but I can't see why it would be, thanks in advance.

Mine says its a bank holiday in Scotland on 3rd January 2012.

no the kids go back to school. the only time there is a bank Holiday on a tue is if xmas day falls on a sat, boxing day on sun then the monday and tue are classed as a bank Holiday

No, not in England, but it is in scotland. Monday 2nd Jan is bank holiday in England
