From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuan, “Chinese yuan, the basic unit of currency in China.” “Renminbi, the current currency used in the People’s Republic of China, whose basic unit is Yuan.”

I completely agree. This propaganda showing that everything is all-right is China is BS. People are not free, they can't speak their minds freely, they haven't got rights, they can't elect their representatives and a minority of corrupt Communists rule. How different is that from the times of the Empire? The General Assembly and all the filthy murderers in it only care about personal businesses and believe me, some of the the worst dealing operations take place in China. People need a democracy not invaders who founded a their empire on blood and tears, brutes and savages that put weapons in the hands of children and forced the to shoot their parents to death, that's what that Mao ******* did. Communist are barbarians that care nothing about the people ;they are starving for power but were never born to have it. They're just like novo-rich. Power comes with responsibilities and they prefer to only see the advantages it brings but as we say here: you can wrap a monkey in silk but it will still be a monkey

Ancient Chinese taels varied in weight but were approximately a bit over one troy ounce. Today's value would be about $35 for a silver tael, and about $1900 for a gold tael assuming both were .999 pure.
