Please help me differentiate this?

Sqrt(4+sqrt3)

I'm getting 1/(4sqrt(4+sqrt(3x))*sqrt(3x))

but the answer is apparently

3/(4sqrtx*sqrt(4+3sqrtx))

What am I doing wrong? Which answer is correct?

    chain rule needed

    d/dx(Sqrt(4+sqrt(3x)))

    = [((1/2) / Sqrt(4+sqrt(3x))] d/dx(4+sqrt(3x))

    = [((1/2) / Sqrt(4+sqrt(3x))] (0 + 3(1/2)(1/sqrt(3x)))

    = [((1/2) / Sqrt(4+sqrt(3x))] (3(1/2)(1/sqrt(3x)))

    = 3 / [4Sqrt(4+sqrt(3x))] ((1/sqrt(3x)))

    = 3 / [4sqrt(3x)Sqrt(4+sqrt(3x))]

    _______________________________________

    note that d/dx(4+sqrt(3x)) = 3 (1/2) / sqrt(3x) = 3 / (2 sqrt(3x))

you might have missed just the factor 3 there

Source(s): but hold on, where is there sqrt(3x) , it has gone to sqrt(x) sqrt(3x) = sqrt(3) sqrt(x) , but they surely dropped a sqrt(3) if they did that??
