How do you honor the people who died 10 years ago today?

I like to pause for a moment every once in a while and think quietly about the people who died.

Update:

I am Canadian.

Update 2:

To honor the dead, I DO NOT want this to turn into a discussion about how the US was wrong to go into Iraq or how the Iraqi people are worse off now.

I fly my flag at half staff and I have my three candles burning. One red, one white, one blue. And I do that every year. Not just on the tenth anniversary. I also do it on December 7. Pearl Harbor? Remember anyone? I have lost loved ones that have defended this Country. I am an American through and through. My flag is at half staff on December 7 and September 11. And my candles are always burning.

I like to instead think of the tens of thousands of Americans who die from preventable causes: heart disease, cancer, accidents, etc.

What if we took just 1% of the money we have spent on counter-terrorism, and used it to get people to stop smoking, stop eating junk food, and starting to exercise?

That would do so much good - prevent tends of thousands of deaths, orphans, widows, etc.

Terrorism kills so few people, and there is not much we can do about it.

But, we can reduce tens of thousands of other ways Americans die.

So, in honor of 9/11, I will not eat at McDonalds (or any other fast food place) and I will tell any smoker that I meet that he/she should stop.

  • Life goes on America attacked it's self question is ho can u honor the innocent iraq children who die everyday because of america!

People die every day of horrible things. I've learned to mourn my losses, then move on. It is a sad day but we all need to move on, you remember the good, not the bad. Or the bad guys win.
