Cat has been sprayed for fleas, but is licking?

I live in Mexico, and the folks across the street have a cat who is flea-ridden. Unfortunately, their cat Nina is my cat's best friend. Nina comes in my house to eat every night because she isn't cared for at home. My cat, Mia, has contracted Nina's fleas and has infested my home. I am having the home bombed tomorrow.

Now, the real question: I just sprayed Mia with PPT Flea Spray, given to me by the vet. She's licking it off her coat. Will she get sick? Should I bath her now that I can see she's going to lick at the substance, and find some other way to protect her from these critters?

Any suggestions or advice would be very welcome.

Update:

Believe me, I'm going to catch Nina and treat her too. Just so you know, we have to order Frontline here and have it brought in from Canada or the U.S. because I don't live near a big city, so the spray was all I could get at the time. However, it's better than nothing! LOL I'm also having someone come to bomb the place tomorrow. Think I'll take the critters for a nice half-day at the beach to avoid after-effects from the bomb ... Mia goes on all our walks with me and her doggie brother too, and she loves the beach. People have called her a "puppycat"!

The vet wouldn't have given you a topical treatment if it was dangerous to ingest. I'm sure she'll be fine.

though the risk of getting fleas again is still very high if the flea-ridden cat is allowed to enter your home.

This is why cats are best kept indoors.

in case you used a flea spray which includes Hartz, then get him to a vet as quickly as attainable. Even an emergency vet provider. in the journey that your vet does not have after hours, all different places until you get a recording telling you the place to flow.

try and find frontline or some kind of liquid flea treatment that you put between her shoulder blades its very effective! if she gets sick like not eating or vomiting get her to vet you shouldnt use spray directly on their coat because of the licking :( she could get sick

Frontline is the best solution. Use that, you put it on the back of their neck. It is very effective and they won't lick it off.
