Question about wisdom teeth?
i should be getting my wisdom teeth out in a several weeks and i can't say that i'm not afraid
but anyways getting to the point
i'm getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth out at once and the top 2 aren't even showing while the bottom 2 are semi-visible
the doctor told me that i should not be needing sedation
but after looking at some other posts they seem to encourage something called IV sedation for the not fully grown wisdom teeth, impacted wisdom teeth they call it?.
so i''m wondering which advice to go for
i don't think i would nearly vomit or go insane at the thought of them slicing open my gums and taking the wisdom teeth that are so far deep in but still i want the best advice possible
thanks

i had all 4 of mine done. none of them were showing at all.
they gave me an IV, and said not to eat or drink anything after midnight the day before to prevent vomiting after the gas.
i had no idea what happened to my teeth when i woke up, and i get queezy easily and have a weak stomach. you'll be fine
after during the healing process, you'll get pain relievers and lots of icepacks for them. you'll be fine. i promise.

Did they tell you why they were pulling your wisdom teeth (are they bothering you?). Impacted would probably mean coming in crooked or sideways instead of straight, did you see your x-rays?
The only tooth I ever had pulled was a regular molar split 4-ways by a bone in a BK triple stacker 4 when I was 55. The dentist just gave me a numbing shot, but it took longer that expected because the root was fused to my jaw so I ended up getting 2 more shots as he saw me start to wince. There was no pain when the numbing wore off, so I did not need the pain killer prescription. The only pain afterwords was burning diarrhea from the antibiotic that apparently did not agree with my system.
I did chip a wisdom tooth many years ago (probably also a bone in a burger), but it is still alive and well.

I was lightly sedated to get my wisdom teeth out- semi-visible, impacted. I don't react well to people working in my mouth, so I was glad to be out of it. It just depends on what you are comfortable with.
