Do you consider these following players a bust in your opinion?
Bryan Berard
Patrick Stefan
Erik Johnson
John Tavares
Taylor Hall
Tyler Seguin
OK, maybe not Berard. But the other five still remains.
Neither of the five players have done something relevant in the NHL.

Tavares had a 30-goal season for a horrible NYI team.
Erik Johnson is a solid young defenceman.
Berard nearly lost an eye a decade ago (I was at the game; horrible accident).
Hall and Seguin just finished their rookie seasons. Too soon to label them.
Stefan is a total bust.

Tavares for sure not. He's highly rated by NHL central scouting. Same with Johnson. Most GM's in the league consider him a stud. Seguin is still developing. This was his first year. Same with Hall. He had a good rookie year considering he was playing on a very weak team. Stefan no doubt is a bust and Berard suffered a bad injury that severely affected vision in his left eye.
Source(s): Got my info from LITY. Johnson is no way a bust. He's ranked 13th by NHL Central scouting on best defensemen. - 1 decade ago
ALL of the players that you mentioned haven't had time to actually do anything relevant in the NHL.
You can't really qualify a player as a bust or not until they've had 3-4 years at the highest level...Then you can judge if they're a bust or not.
Stefan, Johnson, Taveres, Hall and Seguin are all very promising young prospects who are extremely talented, but the only way we'll tell if they're top-line quality players is if we wait a few years and see where they are.
As for Berard, I'm not sure. (considering the injury)

Patrik Stefan - absolutely
Erik Johnson - decent
The other three - what are you smoking? They are all rookies or sophomores and have a lot of potential. You can't expect a player to come into the league and put up 100 points in their first season. Tavares and Hall both have come off good seasons and Seguin has played on a good Bruins team and hasn't got as much ice time. So I would say they all have a lot of potential and it's way too early to call them a bust.

Berard- got some unlucky injuries i mean he didnt live up to expectations i would say he is boderline bust
Patrick Stefan- prob the biggest bust in NHL history
Erik Johnson- obviously hasnt played up to expectations but if he improves which he should be because he is still young then i would not consider him a bust
John Tavares- too early to tell but has had 2 pretty good years he prob wont be
Taylor Hall- only one season and it was good for his age so he prob wont
Tyler Seguin- hasnt had a chance to prove himself i dont see he him as a elite player good enough to make all star would be my guess but it's impossible to even predict if he will be a bust unless you've been scouting this kid since day 1

Berard - He was just unlucky because of the horrible eye injury that he suffered. I wouldnt consider him a "bust"
For Tavares, Hall, and Seguin
All three of them are still very young and need time to blossom. None of them are a bust unless they still haven't done anything in about 4-5 years.

Why would Tavares, Hall, Seguin and Berard in that list? I would say the rest are in some ways? But Hall? Are you kidding me? Tavares?
*facepalm*

If you hold draftees in high regard. "drafting" is just a few guys saying "this guy CAN be real good IF....."
usually a crapshoot.
We all know stefan was a fake.
