Transferring data from a broken Mac (can't boot) to a new PC?
I have just bought a new laptop (A Samsung running Windows 7). My old computer is a Mac laptop. It was purchased new in 2004. I think that makes it a G4, one of the white ones.
I have some word, video and MP3 files I would like to recover.
The problem is, the old one bit the dust when I dropped it, and the power cable broke off inside. It is now dead. I am looking for a way to load all my files onto my new computer without paying for a cord. can anyone offer a step by step on this? It would be much appreciated.

You'd have to pull the hard drive out of the iBook, which is going to be pretty ugly. You have to pull those things apart to get the drive out. Once you've done that, put it in an external USB enclosure and hook it up to the PC. You'll need a third party utility like MacDrive to read it.

i could take out the annoying rigidity and get a USB adapter for it. yet "broken" laptops usually ability the annoying rigidity is trashed via dropping it. if so, records restoration would be high priced if attainable in any respect.
