  • Why does my wireless internet sometimes not work?

I used to have a G4 Mac, I bought a Mac router to work with it. Later, I started using a slightly newer macbook and my wife an IBM. For a while, hers always connected, and the newer Mac only sometimes did. It would detect the signal, but trying to load pages didn't work. Now, we have bought a brand new Samsung and it is developing the same intermittent problems.

A couple of troubleshoot suggestions I found online include pressing a reset button (which my router appears no to have). Mine is an old square-shaped thing. There is not a lot online about such old stuff, everything assumes I have a new one.

If I have to buy a new router, so be it. I just want to get any insight into what might be happening before dropping a couple hundred dollars.

  • Transferring data from a broken Mac (can't boot) to a new PC?

I have just bought a new laptop (A Samsung running Windows 7). My old computer is a Mac laptop. It was purchased new in 2004. I think that makes it a G4, one of the white ones.

I have some word, video and MP3 files I would like to recover.

The problem is, the old one bit the dust when I dropped it, and the power cable broke off inside. It is now dead. I am looking for a way to load all my files onto my new computer without paying for a cord. can anyone offer a step by step on this? It would be much appreciated.
