Was there ever an underdog win less expected than Jamie McMurray's 2002 Charlotte win?

LOL, I was at that race, I was rooting for "The Silver Bullet" of Sterling Marlin, in those days. I remember shock all around when he won.

I don't think there has ever, nor will ever be another underdog victory like that one.

I'd say Kevin Harvick's first win in Atlanta in Dale Earnhardt's car would rival McMurray's win. Remember that that #40 Dodge was a very good car because Sterlin Marlin won races in it too.

I think John Andretti's July 97 Daytona win or Greg Sacks July 85 win at Daytona were surprises to most people. There have been plenty over the years.

Not that i know of considering it was only his 2nd start and he was able to hold off some strong guys. Jamie has a great racing carrerr ahead of him. He one the 2 biggest races in one year.
