What is your interpretation of this poem?
If someone you knew that was depressed sent you this poem...what would you think?
Life's Anger
Look around you
People can be so cruel
No room for compassion
Selfishess is key for survival
Not knowing right from wrong
Why are we all different
Sacrifices are ignored
Humanity will not go on
Love is a word with no meaning
Life is beautiful
Living is hell
Wish I were somewhere else
Alone where time stands still
Free and wild
**Not sure what to think???

Was it a poem the person him/herself wrote? (It's quite well written, aesthetically put)
However, I would be worried about this person. If it's a friend or a close person, spend time with him/her, and listen to what he/she has to say. If he/she says he/she wants to be alone, it's never true. This poem has a suicidal feel to it, as seen from "Living is hell" and "Wish I were somewhere else/ Alone where time stands still." Where else is time still except in the afterlife? When you're dead, time isn't a factor (and neither is anything else).
Source(s): I've been depressed before, and this is what I would've like a friend to have done for me. Thankfully I had one. - Anonymous1 decade ago
I would think they were depressed. And that someone had hurt them and they are angry and blame other people.
But at some point people need to take things into their own hands and get some help, seek help.
Maybe this person is doing this with you!!!
Ask them if they want to talk. See if they have a family member who can approach them.
It borders on suicidal talk. How I FEEL for these people, having been there at one time.
Medication can help, depression groups, therapy, anything! Anything!
Go talk to them--nothing is worth the isolation, desperation. Reach back dear!
I think the you should read that and see the answers RIGHT in front of you!!!

This poem is about a person who disappointed in the world they live in. And they wish for an escape. But it isn't a particularly original way of stating to the point that the entire poem would seem to cliche in today's world . Perhaps if the poem is old then it was expressive for it's time, but today it seems more like standard teen-age whining.

Most poems I come across anymore are very sad, angry or depressing. This person is feeling the effects of this old system of things.
Tell them to read Revelation 21:3,4.

Looks like it was written by a teenager. He/she feels different from his/her surroundings. Do have a talk with him/her. If that person sent you this, it means he/she trusts you. You could try and reassure him/her, and try to find out what the problem is.
I'm just speculating, What I may think of this poem isn't necessarily what he/she meant.

They're asking for help and attention.
