How to read a Liquid Crystal Thermometer?
I have liquid crystal thermometer on my aquarium (I also have a digital) there seems to be a difference so I'm wondering if I'm reading it properly. Is the blue square on the LC thermometer the temperature or do I read the highest coloured temperature.

You've hit one of my pet peeves. The liquid crystal thermometers you get in Petsmart and Petco give you a range (usually 2 or 4 degrees). Unfortunately you can't really calibrate your LC thermometer with a good digital because if your tank just hit 78 degrees, 78-82 lights up. If your tank is on its way to 82, the same box lights up. In most cases its close enough for government work, but in your particular case it might not be. Also, I wear reading glasses and I can't tell what box is light unless I put on my glasses or the light in very bright. There are much better LC thermometers made by biological and chemical suppliers, but they are costly. I breed a lot of rare cichlids and i sometimes need to know the precise temperatures. I can't tell you how much money I spend on broken digital thermometers as Mandatearge cichlids like to bang on them when they want attention. I wish the pet trade carried some upscale LC thermometers for people who need them

the colour interior the midsection is the single to study. A digital thermometer is a lot greater advantageous. you will desire to purchase a advantageous one with a probe at Walmart for greater or less $10.00. it additionally will degree humidity.
