What would you do as a parent?

So, as a parent, what would you do if you caught your 18 year old in a lie? I am currently attending a school my parents do not approve of (regular university), so a while (5 months) ago I looked into a tech school they wanted me to go to. Well, I did enroll in classes there, but changed my mind basically at the same time and switched schools.

Now I have been attending this university for 3 months, telling them I was going to tech school... For my current situation I live at home and pay for everything else myself (school, books, car, phone, etc..) But, I really want them to know the truth, at the same time I know they will just tell me how stupid I am...

So, as a parent, what would you do?

I am just following what I want to do (teach). But, my parents disapprove of teaching.

so, as a parent. i would wonder when your going to decide your old enough that you don't need to lie. 
your an adult now and weather they think your choices are stupid or not they are your choices and its your life.. only you have to live with the choices you make mistakes or not. at some point in your life you'll decide you don't have to lie to protect yourself or other peoples feelings. your parents, being your parents will love you, even if they think your doing something stupid. 

tell them and get it over with, you'll feel alot better and perhaps a little wiser.

I don't like liars living under my roof.If they call you stupid for it, WHO CARES.Prove them wrong.
