Can I change my routers 192.168.1.1 numbers?
My Router assigns IP numbers to each device on our home network. These are the out of the box IP numbers - 192.168.1.1. Can I change these IP numbers to something like 123.456.1.1? or 201.768.1.1?

There are ranges you can use on a home network. The ones you give are not them. The ranges 192.168.x.x, 172.16.x.x and 10.x.x.x are reserved for "private networks." Home networks qualify.
Everything else is a global IP address and can NOT be just used at will. They have to be assigned by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority. So 201.768.1.1 is verboten.
The mechanism for changing the range your router uses depends on the router itself, but I can assure you it's on the router's administration Web pages.

Yes you could, but it's not advisable. There are certain IP address ranges that are set aside for internal use on "private" networks. 192.168.x.x, 17.16.x.x and 10.x.x.x. All other addresses are "owned" by someone. Setting your internal network to use something other than a public address space could cause network trouble for you.
