Sucrose decreasing pH of urine?
In a physiology lab recently I had done a study on kidney function. The subjects we had who consumed a 20% sucrose (in water) solution had a decrease in pH (mean decrease 5.9 to 5.7).
Can you think of any logical reason why this may have been? All the subjects had normally functioning kidneys.

hmm that is very interesting, it suggests that sucrose effects the bodies pH level although we know that not to be true.
The only thing I can think of is that the body was working harder to try and break down the sucrose, causing the temperature of the body to increase and the pH level to go down, although that really doesn't make any sense.
Sorry man I'm stumped!
