Speedometer on a 2000 accord is slow by about 10km/h?

I have a 2000 accord that says I'm going faster that I really am. I've tested it a few times with different cars following me and for example when my speedometer says I'm doing 80 I'm actually doing about 72. The dealership wants a few hundred bucks to replace the speedometer but they only said it "might work". (I'm not that concerned because I'm not getting any speeding tickets)

Any suggestions as to what it might be and how to do an easy fix? In case anyone is wondering I haven't modified the car in any way, so that shouldn't be considered.

2 possibility, one would be that your speedometer is malfunctioning

the other is that your wheel speed sensor is beginning to mess up which will cause improper reading speed.

No matter which, i suggest buying your parts cheaper online then jst taking it to your local mechanics shop and having them install it, its way cheaper like that

i buy my parts at www.hondapartsnow.com they have really cheap parts

    hopes this helps
