Why do the Brits make such great soldiers?
How do you guys do it. Condolences on your fallen comrade. It's a testament to the amazing ability of your soldier's war fighting skills that they were able to rescue this hostage. Making a new definition for "The free press."

Training & discipline.
It shows up in NOT firing without orders, in establishing relationships with locals instead of blasting the hell out of everything at the first sign of trouble.
Ask questions first, shoot later.
It starts with respect - for each other, for leaders, for law, for civilians, for weapons - and for the enemy.
To defeat an enemy you must understand him. From this understanding you may even make him an ally in the long term.

Too bad they were not able to pull off a clean mission.
Hopefully more journalists will think twice about where they go to get an interview. 1 British soldier and a translator lost their lives to rescue that idiot.
My condolences to the families of those that gave their lives to rescue him.
