Is there a way in Microsoft Word to auto-format pages 4 & 1 on one side, and pages 2 & 3 on the reverse?
I have laid it out in columns so I can get 4 pages per sheet of paper, but I need the layout to make a booklet (p 4 & 1 on one side, p 2 & 3 on the reverse multiplied by the whole document). My document is 530 pages long, so I don't want to do this page by page; I want MS to format the entire document at a click. Is this possible? If not in Word, can I do it in MS Publisher if I transfer the file?

Yes- quite easily! In the help box in MS Word, use the keyword "booklet" and it will lead you through the steps. You will have to take out your columns though, and you don't even need to set it to landscape, MS will do everything automatically. If you want 4&1 on the same page, choose the 4 page option, if you want 8&1 on the same page (with corresponding fixes thru 2-7) choose 8 page. It will autoformat for you just as you desire. Have fun with your novel Sian!

You can do even and odd automatically, I don't think you can do pairs automatically, though.
