Does this provide any comfort, or is it just empty words?

Look to the Sun

Whisper her name into the wind,

if she does not return

in body

and shade falls on your heart

remember

shadows are shadows

and not scars,

they fade easily

in the morning sun.

beyond a SHADOW of a doubt... It is not empty words, it is paws for thought....

the mourning son will cast a daunting shadow which will in turn

fade, and the mourning will pass as well as morning turns into afternoon.

    shadows are shadows

    and not scars,

    they fade easily

    in the morning sun ...

Almost sounds like you're saying scars are the ones which fade easily - instead of the shadows. Or is that what you're saying?

Maybe taking the "and" out would clarify.

Not empty words at all - comfort - yes, if the shadows are which fade easily.

Some shadows are hard to dispel and if left alone will harm the heart.

This is comforting; it's not just empty words. A very sound advice, especially to younger people. I enjoyed reading your poem.

I got what the poet was writing, shadows fade in the morning sun, but scars don't, they stay forever. Hard words my friend, big words.

    Keep writing.

Wow! You really are a very sensitive romantic!

This was beautiful, but I'm not sure many would be able to agree they are only shadows and not scars. Were it to be true!

    shadows fade easily

Comforting, in that fading helps to renew the soul.

this is soft. Not empty words at all, filled with meaning! Comfort, yes.

Comforting. I wish they were just shadows.

These words would have helped me with broken hearts that plenty of young ladies have left me with. Thanks for sharing.
