75% say Sir Fred Goodwin gets a £20,000 pension?

25% have said he should get nothing - a poll is running at:

I don't think there are many that would say he deserves the full £639,000pa, he would have got £20,000 before the bailout - he's just 50, do you think he should be able to retire on three times the prime ministers salary???

Update:

quite right £400,000 if he got sacked, but only £20,000 if they hadn't been bailed out by the Government...(by which I mean the taxpayers, that is you and me....)

Update 2:

Voting is now at 60% say he gets the £20,000 pension, 40% say he gets nothing...

@Johnny - WE are now the majority shareholders, it's now tough on US!! BTW I don't think the shareholders voted on his pension, he worked it out with his titled chums from the old-boy network...

it's now 50/50 whether he gets the £20k or nothing...

    I think it's in his own interests to do give a lot of it back. He's a massive public hate figure now, almost as though the entire financial crisis is being blamed on him, although of course that's far from the truth.

    The figure I just heard on the news was £416,000 plus 12 months wages which is what he was entitled to get if he was sacked - which he wasn't.

    We just can't get away from the fact that RBS shareholders voted him this remuneration. Tough on them. Its peanuts compared to the billions this crunch has cost us.

    No I don't, will I do anything about it? No probably not. That's where the problem starts, nobody will moan or complain and so things just carry on as they are.

    People in this country (including me) just don't do enough to stop things like this

    No he shouldn`t be rewarded for his massive failure, surely his company should have charged him with gross misconduct....
