  • 75% say Sir Fred Goodwin gets a £20,000 pension?

25% have said he should get nothing - a poll is running at:

    http://www.thecreditcruncher.com/

I don't think there are many that would say he deserves the full £639,000pa, he would have got £20,000 before the bailout - he's just 50, do you think he should be able to retire on three times the prime ministers salary???

  • Can't get replacement motherboard to work?

I bought a second-hand JETWAY 993AS-L PCI AGP MOTHERBOARD with INTEL CELERON 533MHZ CPU + FAN

+ BACKPLATE for a project, but can't get it to fire up the display. There was a graphics board with it (I have a spare that I can try) I have fitted what I believe to be the correct SDRAM (133mHz) and have it connected to a previously working hard-drive/floppy drive and power supply. All the power components and fans kick in, but there is nothing sent to the screen at all.

What should I check now, or have I just bought a dud?

I even went out and bought thermal grease for fitting the heatsink/fan onto the CPU!!

  • Can a hyper-link from an email be detected as referrer?

I know that a direct link ie. pasted straight into the browser bar returns a detectable value in Javascript or PHP, but I am curious to know what the 'referrer' value would be if the link was in an email such as outlook express?

Any ideas from a web-buiding genuis?? (for a web-building novice?)

  • Forums like Yahoo - which ones have you used?

I have tried Google answers (now ceased) and Lycos IQ, I am specifically interested in music and technical audio questions/answers. Let me know which ones you have used and what sort of questions you have asked or answered.

  • If I edit a CD track to make a short MP3 ring-tone, can I legally give it to others?

Don't want to sell it or anything, but wondered if I breach copyright once I let someone else have it. I have about 16 bars (instrumental) of Joe Jacksons 'stepping out' (edit from original CD). It attracts some attention because no-one else (to my knowledge) has it.
