Why, no matter how good the relationship,do men still lie?

Question

My boyfriend hid other women's phone numbers under names of his family on his cell phone. If they are just friends, why did he hide it, and lie about it? Trying to hide them or lying about it makes it suspicious, and causes problems. If he had just told me they were friends to start out with, it wouldn't have bothered me, well, except the fact that some of them text him at 2 am, but come on, I've been honest about my friends, have even told some that I'm in a relationship and don't call any more, and he even admitted if it were the other way around, he'd be upset. I just don't get it.

the reason I know this, is the phone account is in my name. I'm not snooping, it's on MY bill.

im a girl so i can feel where you coming from HOWEVER
this is like someone asking you

why, no matter how good the relationship, why do women use men for money? and sex as an excuse to make a guy look bad? why do women f.u.c.k their way to the top, why do they just go to clubs and kiss random guys?

do you know why he lied?

a) you probably argue with him a lot about how he doesnt love you, or how he treats his friends more important than you. all this combined makes him feel that he cannot come to you. that every little thing will seem like a huge thing in your eyes. so he rather cover them up and save himself the trouble of dealing with arguing about something that he believes is not wrong.

b) hes cheating

why dont you trust your bf? if its such a great relationship then wheres the trust? has he betrayed your trust before? all this stems from you being too insecure thinking all men are liars. HUMANS LIE is given. not just men. get that straight. 

you should talk to him nicely about it, 
"hey sugar plum, (haha i had to throw that one int here) it bothers me about those 2 am text you've been getting from these girls, and how you had to hide them under your families names. I just would like to hear an answer. After, we'll completely squash it"

dont make it look liek hes the problem..then they'll just gonna block you out. This is crucial, dont accuse him of cheating or imply that he is. Just clarify that you'll like to know whats up. why he did the hiding thing. Tell him, just be honest with me, if anything all the behavior you been doing is doing more harm, so just come out with the truth.

p.s. the more you look through his stuff, just proves how much you dont trust him to begin with. and how much this "good" relationship isnt really good afterall...

maybe its time for you to really think deeply about where you guys stand...

The number one reason why a person lies to their mate is because they don't want to hurt them. 

I don't lie to my partner. So when i'm lied to i feel hurt no matter how much they tried to not hurt me by lieing. 

I will appreciate the persons honesty no matter how harsh it is. I will take it into consideration.
