Long layover at Richmond airport, need some help!?
Hello! I am flying back from a vacation and we come into Richmond Airport at around 10pm and have a flight back to JFK at 6am. I see no point in getting a hotel for that amount of time, especially since we are flying JetBlue back to JFK and although I love them; they are classically late! I am guessing we will arrive in Richmond somewhere around 11pm-ish. The flight back to NYC is at exactly 6am.
I have tried and tried to find info out on the web and even called the airport but no one seems to be able to tell me what time their restaurants close! I once had a layover like this in Buffalo, NY and could not get anything to eat until 5am! We are having an early dinner/late lunch before our flight into Richmond but just in case I would like to know if they have anything (even a place to get a snack or coffee) open over night!
Thanks!
Thank you, I did call earlier today to that number and they told me she "thinks" some are open to 10pm and reopen at 5am but she was not sure otherwise!

I live in Richmond and can tell you that the restaurants definitely close earlier than 10 pm. I can't tell you how many times I've landed and found the airport nearly closed up at a really early hour. You should call a cab and get them to take you some where else or you will be starving and out of luck.

You can shop at duty free stores and eat at an airport cafe. Try to eat the French food. The American food (like doughnuts) is VERY EXPENSIVE and doesn't really taste like American food. You can also use the time to read a good book. Long layovers are the reason ppl will pay to be members of an airline club so they can rest in the airline lounge. If you are in CDG, you will get to Paris the fastest and directly to the tourist destination of your choice if you take a taxi. But it will be expensive. It might be better for you to just pay the penalty fee and either book a shorter layover or to allow a whole day in Paris.

This is the listing of places to eat at the airport
Applebee's and Applebee's To Go - located in the Atrium
Double T's Barbeque - located in the Atrium
Caribou Coffee - located in the Atrium, Concourses A and B
Sam Adams Celebrates Richmond - located in Concourse A and B
Vito's Market - located in Concourse A
Cheeburger Cheeburger - located in Concourse B
Most likely, because its a small airport these places probably close around 10pm and re-open around 6am ( coffee place )
Here is the main switchboard number, I would suggest you call and asked to be transferred to the restaurants to verify their hours.

I suggest that you call the airport and ask if the airport is open all night long. Some airports run everyone out when the last flight is in.

Dan
