6th grade math problem?
We drive a distance of 1 kilometer at 20 km/h. Then we drive an additional distance of 1 kilometer at 30 km/h. What is our average speed?
An explanation would be greatly appreciated!

Okay it's quite easy.
Add your kilometres together.
1+1 = 2
So you travelled 2 km
Add your speeds together
30 km/h + 20 km/h = 50 km/h
You have 2km = 50 km/h
Divide both by two.
1km = 25 km/h
Your average speed was 25 km/h

25km/h. you average 20 and 30. if you don't know how to do that, you add them both together and then divide by the number of how many there are which is 2. so 50 divided by 2. hope this helped! ps-im in 7th grade if you wanted to know

all you have to do..is find the sum of the speed which is 50km/h over the sum of the distance traveled, 2km.
so..it would be 25km/h
