How do I compress a powerpoint file using Microsoft Office 2007 Power Point?

Step by step please... I really don't know what I'm doing.

Unfortunately the default setting in PowerPoint 2007 is to AUTOMATICALLY compress your presentation. But to check/change the settings, go to the round Office button at the top left corner of PowerPoint --> Save As --> PowerPoint Presentation.

Then in the bottom left corner of the Save dialog box, there is a flyout menu that says Tools --> Compress Pictures. Then select Options in the next window that pops up.

Make your selection, apply, okay, etc. etc.

I never want compression, so when I start a new file, before I do anything, I turn all that off.

The settings live with the file, not in PowerPoint, so every file must be set.
