    *******

    (a+b)² = a² + 2ab + b²

    For a = 2u and b = 3:

    (2u+3)² = 4u² + 12 u + 9

  • Take out the common factor of the lot.

    3u (4u^2+12u+9)

You now have 4u^2+12u+9, which is the perfect square of 2u+3

    3u (2u+3)^2

    Simple.... Tah-daah!!

First look for common factors in each term:

    3u(4u^2 + 12u + 9)

Then check the trinomial, can it be factored ?

It is a perfect square trinomial:

    3u(2u + 3)(2u + 3)
