I must be old... what are "EMO" and "scene" people?

Emo is pretty much emotional

happy is an emotion right?

so emo doesn't mean depressed and sad

being emo doesnt mean cutting and all that crap

like scene hair is sometimes blond with different color streaks in them

Emo's so last summer. Scene is the new "underground trend".

Emo kids and scene kids are pretty similar. Both of both genders like tight pants and shirts, piercings, tattoos and multi-layered hair, but emo is darker. Emo comes from the word emotional and emo kids are usually that. They're stereotyped as emotinally disturbed and whiney. Their staple is the act of self-mutilation. Emos wear tight black pants, often black band shirts and silver studded belts and black Chucks or skate shoes. Their hair is usually black and sometimes with a chunk of blond and cut short in the back and long in the front and swept to the side to cover one or both eyes. Scene kids like tight pants too, but they don't have to be black - actually, the brighter the better. Shirts with bright graphics (the iconic kind like robots, guns, butterflies, etc) work too, and hair is usually longer and teased to puff up or stick out like a a cartoon lion's mane. Hair can be any colour, and once again, brighter, the better. Bangs can cover one eye or both. They're called scene because they're where the "scene" is - where shows are happening. You notice emos are more visual/literary arts related and closer to goth and scene more about music and the music scene and closer to raver.

For images, just use Google. On the street, you're probably going to see more scene than emo.

If you're not sure what the kid is, just ask if they're emo. A scene kid will be proud to be scene and will probably correct you and an emo will be in denial. Lol.

Of course, both are stereotypes and it'd be unfair to judge teenagers based on those kinds of things, so yeah. :]

"Emo people": they're more sensitive, more in touch with their feelings, and are usually very passionate people. Tend to be shy, but also very loyal. Usually come from middle class families, not rich but have enough to do OK, typical in suburban areas, and tend to have a more liberal point of view of things.

"Emo" people are usually the kind to write poetry and draw sketchy drawings. Find ways to express themselves artistically, and yet aren't always that talented artists. They would also like the guitar and other such instruments.

They also tend to see everyone else as conformists, abiding by the social rules that are established. They would rather see people with less and satisfied emotionally, rather than materially happy, People seem to think "emo" people are constantly 'sad', but they're just as much human as any one else, they have good days and bad days.

Emo people are nothing new. They've been around forever. One of the most notable person to act "emo" is Henry David Therau. Brilliant person, too brilliant for society. Transcendentalism in many ways is a "emo" perception. There's some good intention to it, but it is very unrealistic if applied to society, goverment, and everything else that keeps life as we know it going.

Scene people are just weird. They're garbage, I mean people, that want to freeload off of society and "live it up" have no sense of duty or working. Just want to have everything handed to them. Dress like ita Halloween, have weird nicknames, and think that life is just one giant party and forget about everything else. You know the type of liberal idiots that you just want to kick the crap out of for their tight pants and "screw the world" BS? Those are them, but in teenage form. But they lack any real backing to what they do, they just talk the yada yada and think everyone else is lost. Very simillar to gothic.

At least those who associate themselves as being "emo" are just more sensitive. So what? They just care too much about what people think. But, those scene kids are just a bunch of freeloaders who all need to learn to show some respect, or pick up a gun and stand a post. They're the lost teenagers, the kind who think they've figured it all out and it's not a good picture, when in reality, there problem is is that they have a very poor and misinformed perspective on everything.

i have aloot of scene friends ad there like the coolest people on earth

and there deffiantly not scary lol

emo and scene are basicly the same thing.

emo kids are depressed, sad, and very dark. most of them time they cut.

scene kids just like the emo style and music, but there far from depressed.

girls generally have side swept bangs, black or bleach blond hair (poofed up) and possibly some oother really bright neon colours

they wear really dark eyemakeup

guys usually have really long black hair (most of it being in there face lol) and sometimes some other colours mixed in there too

some of them wear eyemakeup, some of them dont

both guys and girls mainly stick to wearing skinny jeans, band tshirts, studded belts and converse shoes. most of them also have lots of piercings

scene kids are all about music. they listen to practicly everything except for country, but mostly screamo and techno stuff

emo kids like music too, but they generally go for more darker stuff.

but of course there not all exactly like this.. they all have there own variation.. thats what makes them unique. this is just your basic scene/emo kid.

I think that if you will google it, it will give a better explenation because here one person is going to tell you that they are 'sh!tty posers' and other that they are 'coolest people you will ever meet'.

What you think of them is your choice.

But basically they are kind of alternative teens, with bit different clothes, but emo is darkish while scene is more into 'hyper' colours.

Emo comes from the word "emotional" and when kids us it, it refers to people who PRETEND to be depressed or whatever (and cut themselves or brag about overdosing) just to get attention. It's the kids that cut themselves and then come to school with a short sleeved shirt and bandages or letting the cuts show so people will ask and they can tell them about it. The word "emo" does NOT apply to people who are actually depressed or mentally unstable.

Scene" is a culture made mostly of teenagers and is relatable to emo. It is a culture derived to reject the "norm". Scene kids might often be quoted as saying "I hate people that arn't themselves" or "I dress this way because this is who I am!". Ironically, there has become a set mold which scene kids seemingly strive to fit, and they all look/act the same.

Emos are all those strange looking kids who want to look dark and depressing because they think its makes them cool.

Scene people are followers and just go down to Hollister or Abercrombie & Bit*h (as i call it) and buy whatever the TV tells them to. These are same people who listen to all that generic, bland Top 40 crap spewing from the radio these days.
