Which Philosophors would agree with this philosophy?

Put your needs before others, but put others needs before your wants. And respect and rationalize which wants serve the highest good.

Or what do you think? What are any limitations in this belief or how might it advance mankind if adhered to as a common practice?

Thanks in advance.

That's a great advancement on the collective vs individual-dichotomy!!!

    1) Most build and pitch camps in one or the other their whole lives.

    2) One camp belongs to the religious and preaches "the collective at the cost of the individual"

    3) While the other camp, made famous by Ayn Rand called 'Objectivist" say the 'individual at the cost of the collective"

    4) What you've done is provided factors that cut to the heart of the problem, and used very accurate language to do so.

    5) Most use 'wants' and 'needs' interchangeably and the religious would have to admit that their verses really mean 'Put others NEEDS before your WANTS"!

    6) Beutiful Man! And if that wasn't enough, you qualify it and make the objectivist happy as well, that we are to take care of our NEEDS before others NEEDS.(If we starve ourselves to death, acting in 'compassion' towards others, the day we die of starvation that becomes a selfish death that could of been prevented by taking care of oneself and making it a priority before reaching out to others...

    7) So simple, yet elegant; A founding father in your own right; what pray-tell will you 'coin' such a philosophy? And could I offer my humble-genious in contributing further to such an endeavor that has capacity beyond measure?

This has a very good intention most especially to humanity. Hwever, one must first filled the needs of himself before others. He should set forth good examples to his colleagues in order to convince the same. It is easiest to put your needs before others once you have established a good foundation on yourself. Respect beget s respect so they say. I do not disagree with your notion for this is a great service to humanity. On the second premise of yours, i absolutely agree with the second statement that indeed we must first and foremost rationalized the wants we want in life to serve the highest good. We must get rid of those human greed to avoid self-needs.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!
