What would be a good way to remove old reg #'s from my hull?
I have a fiberglass boat, and I'm sure I could do it with a razor, but i'm nervous about that gel coat, so I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on how to remove the stickers without damaging the gel coat.

Put all your answers together.
Hairdryer to loosen the adhesive on the letters.
Plastic scraper to remove the letters.
And WD-40 or Goo Gone to remove the adhesive left on the boat.
Then take your WD-40 and squirt a little bit on a paper towel, rub that on the snaps for your top. Makes it much easier to get on and off.

Use a hair dryer and heat the #s up. That will loosen the adhesive and you can pull them off then. If there is any adhesive left on the boat, just use WD-40, Goo-Gone, alcohol, acetone, etc to get the adhesive off. Then, clean and re-wax the area to protect it.

I have always had good luck taking a hair dryer and heating the decal up( it heats and loosens up the "glue" holding the sticker on) thus the decal comes off easy...there will be some resedue left over...some kerosene on a rag easily takes it off.

Most marine supply stores now carry plastic razor blades that won't harm the gelcoat like metal...
