what is a D-mark extension used for?
How do you connect to it, and does anyone have some information on setting one up, connecting to?
A link to PDF file would be great.
Thanks

Extending the D-Mark simply means extending the point where the hone company hands off responsibility for the circuit to the customer. An extended d-mark is typically found in large office buildings. The customer does not have technical staff to trouble shoot circuit issues between their Office, the Riser Closet (IDF) and the the MDF/MPOE. They pay the Telephone company a fee to take ownership all the way to their office space. If a T-1 is being installed, then the Telco will often place the smart jack (NIU) in the customer's suite.
