Could it be a pinched nerve??

I've always had pain and cramping/kinks around my shoulder blade. Usually intermittently. Its not constant, but it does happen a few times a day for an hour or two.

The last two days the pain has gone more to a tight/tense feeling and I can feel something being pulled when I turn my head. When I sit down and lean forward the top part of my arm goes tingly, as well as my thumb, index and middle finger. This also happens if I put my head back or lay with my shoulder forward. It's completely fine if I am standing, sitting completely straight or laying on my back or side.

I always though pinched nerves really hurt, but it sounds like a pinched nerve.

Also, the last two days as well, I get a REALLY sharp pain in the base of my spine by my tail bone when I turn my upper body, every now and then. Could this be related, or did I screw up my back in two places??

Just a suggestion: there's this book called "The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook, 2nd edition," by Clair Davies, that a lot of people seem to have good luck with. Trigger points can cause pinched nerve-like symptoms sometimes.

Why not look it up on Amazon.com an read peoples' reviews on it to see what they have to say? Maybe the book will help you.

Sounds like a pinched nerve for sure. Yes both places can be related. Nerves can run the full length of your body; so if there screwed up one place it's likely that you will eventually have sypmtoms elsewhere as well. Meds can help and in worse cases you can have surgery. The surgery releases the nerve that is pinched and relieves the pressure. I had this done a couple of years ago and it was a great help. It's an outpatient procedure so your home the same day. Otherwise there are also a few other options for relief. Chiropractic care can help loosen the nerve and relieve pain. I have heard acupuncture is also helpful. I hope this helps.

It's really hard to tell. But trust me, when it comes to your back, neck and spine, DO NOT take chances. My father is a paraplegic because of back problems and then surgery. My sister just had back surgery last week. She walked around for 4 years with her back hurting and thinking it was just out of place or a nerve was pinched. Come to find out, a worthless piece of s**t she had lived with, had beat her so bad, her tail bone separated from her spine. The pain wasn't that bad in the beginning and she had no idea it was severe enough for 5 rods to be inserted in her back. Find a good doctor and have it checked out. Better to be safe and out a few bucks than to really have problems later. Even a good chiropractic could probably tell you. Good Luck!

sounds like you know what is wrong but also sounds like stress in your neck .Dr can give you muscle relaxers and a good chiropractor or body massage will help.
