Mac sound question?
This started a few weeks ago. Sometimes, I turn on my iMac, not the Intel version but just before that, and the little loudspeaker on the menu bar is gone, and none of the sound on anything works. Sometimes, I turn on the computer and all is well with the world. Is this something I can fix myself, and how do I do it?

when the speaker icon is missing, go to system pref. select sound and check show volume in menu bar.
on your keyboard, do u not have volume buttons, F3 F4 & F5?
