6-3 wire in 3/4 liquid tight tubing...too much?

I am running 6-3 wire for a spa (hot tub).It will be ~12 ft run to the spa sub panel and then 15 ft to the spa. I want to use liquid tight tubing since it is a wet location (duh) and it will protect the wire. Lowes and HD only have 1/2 and 3/4 inch conduit. The wire fits inside and I can easily pull it through the short lengths needed to do the job.

My question is: Is this too much wire in too small of a conduit diameter? ie DO I have to worry about over-heating?

    Yes you can.

    Table C.7 Annex C of the National Electric Code allows 3 or 4 number 6 wires in a 3/4 Liquid tite flex conduit depending on the wire type. So you will be fine with 3. No problem. Good catch on the over heating. That is the reason for the restrictions on conduit fill. If you have romex, I would strip off the outer sheath for the conductors inside the conduit.

    For a max 40% fill, you need at least 3/4" conduit for 3x #6, so I'd say you should be fine.

    you will be ok with 3 #6 wires in 3/4 in pipe but i wouldn't run 6-3 romex in the pipe,that is what it soundl like you want to do. go to home depot and get 3 seperate #6 wires dont forget to properly ground the tub. If u have any ?'s feel free to email me.

    The outside wire sheath should not become hot at all, so it should be fine in the conduit.
