Can someone help me?I am very depressed?

It takes the greatest effort to get out of bed in the morning. I am tired all day, yet when night comes, sleep evades me. I stare at the ceiling, wondering what has happened to my life, and what will become of me. Nothing is getting done at work. I hav projects to complete, but I can't think. I can't concentrate. I try to focus on my work, and I get lost. I keep wondering when the boss will discover how little I have accomplished. Nobody seems to understand. Everybody keeps telling me to "snap out of it." I'm irritable all the time, and yell at people around me, and then I feel terrible later. Nothing is fun any more. I can't read, I can't write, and the music I used to enjoy so much does nothing for me. I am bored, but I feel like doing nothing. There are times, when I'm alone, that I think that life is hopeless and meaningless, and I can't go on much longer. . I have a very strong fear that at some point everything is going to fall apart and I would no longer be able to function

These are typical symptoms of depression. I have been suffering with it off and on all my life. but it's just recently been diagnosed. More than likely, you won't "snap" out of it. You need to see a doctor. If you don't know where to start, go to your family physician and tell them everything you said here, and they should be able to refer you to a good psychiatrist, or psychologist, or mental health center. Major depression such as this usually requires therapy and medication. This type of depression, untreated will affect your whole life. My husband left me because he just doesn't understand, it took my mom a long time to understand that it is a real medical problem just like any physical problem that needs medical attention. It has affected my jobs, I missed many, many days of work with physical symptoms, but now I know it was related to my depression. At this point I have the depression, pending divorce, and the recent death of my dad going on, so I'm not doing very good even on medication. But I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and I will do all I can to recover. Mine is also recurring, so I'll probably be battling it the rest of my life.

enough about me..... sorry, didn't mean to go into that much, but I want you to know you are not alone, and there is help out there, but you have to ask for it.

    Good luck.

well... you could seek some professinal help. They know what to look for and can help if you let them help. I don't really believe in going to Psychologist but for some people it can help. I use to feel like you at one time. But only thing I did was work a lot and never go home. Is there anyone that you can talk to? Family or a friend that you trust? Is there something that happened to you in your life? Death or anything that is traumatic? I hope things get better for you....

Talk to someone. Get depression medicine from your doctor.

Depression isn't something that you can just snap out of, it takes time and healing. Good luck to you.

    Prayer doesn't hurt either :)

I would seek professional help immediately. Depression runs in my family and I know that people cannot beat it alone. I beg you to call your doctor immediately and make an appoint. Please do it.
