Is it safe to use multiple shampoos?

I know Head & Shoulders has recently come out with better smelling shampoos, but I still have a large bottle of the old fashioned not-so-great smelling H&S that I use. Because it doesn't smell that great, but works great for preventing dandruff, I also like to use Herbal Essences - which makes my hair look and smell better, but doesn't do much to prevent dandruff.

I usually just use one or the other, but recently, I've been experimenting and using both in one trip to the shower. I dont mix them or anything, but I shampoo with H&S first, then a couple minutes later, I use Herbal Essences (and vice versa).

So does using multiple shampoos at one time, such as Herbal Essences and Head & Shoulders, damage my hair or scalp?

I think that it wouldn't do any damage... but figured I'd ask anyways.

Well, shampooing strips the natural oils from your scalp, so if you have a dry scalp, you really shouldn't use that much shampoo. You could alternate shampooing with H&S one day and Herbal Essences the next, etc.

Taking in consideration that you would rinse your hair well in between, it's fine. Just use a very small amount since you won't need much. If your hair tends to get a little drier than normal, only do it a couple of times of week. Don't forget conditioner should also be used after shampooing. Hope this helps.

You are way over washing. You do not need to double lather. If you are having this much trouble with your scalp and hair, try Mane and Tail shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo cleanses the scalp so no dandruff and the conditioner can either be rinsed out or used as a leave in. They do not build up residue so your hair is clean and lively.

It depends on the hair and scalp type yo have. Sensitive scalp might suffer from constant change of shampoo/conditioners. I use different ones depending on what I feel like and my hair has never suffered.

It will damage your hair if you use it everyday, try using it every other day but if you have greasy hair and you need to shower everyday, you could find great tips by searching here in the internet.
